Renowned former Indian cricketer and popular cricket commentator Shri Aakash Chopra visited the sacred Jyotirlinga town of Omkareshwar today. During his visit, he had the opportunity to seek the blessings of Lord Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga through traditional worship and Abhishek. The religious rituals were performed by Pandit Shri Nilesh Purohit in accordance with Vedic traditions and accompanied by the chanting of sacred mantras. On behalf of the temple, Shri Ashish Dixit welcomed Shri Aakash Chopra. Expressing his happiness at visiting Omkareshwar, Aakash Chopra described the experience as deeply spiritual. His visit added to the presence of distinguished personalities who come to the sacred shrine to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.

Omkareshwar, October 7, 2026: Under the guidance of Managing Trustee Rao Pushpendra Singh and Chief Executive Officer and Punasa SDM Shri Pankaj Verma, IAS, a special camp was organized at Omkar Prasadalaya for the issuance of Ayushman cards under the Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme. The camp was organized for employees of Shri Omkareshwar Temple Trust as well as outsourced personnel. The process of preparing Ayushman cards for eligible employees was completed during the camp. Prasadalaya In-charge Shri Manoj Trivedi informed employees about the required documents and encouraged eligible personnel to participate in the camp to avail themselves of the benefits of the scheme. The Temple Trust and administration described the initiative as an important step towards employee welfare and made efforts to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach the maximum number of eligible employees.

A meeting of supervisors and officials of the Shri Omkareshwar Temple Trust was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Managing Trustee Shri Rao Pushpendra Singh Chauhan. Various important decisions were taken during the meeting with the objective of strengthening temple arrangements and ensuring a more convenient and respectful experience for devotees. The meeting discussed measures to improve the temple’s electrical infrastructure and arrangements. Instructions were also given to ensure that security personnel maintain courteous and respectful behaviour towards pilgrims at all times. Special emphasis was placed on improving arrangements for the welcome and reception of special guests. The meeting also discussed the beautification of the Abhishek Hall to further enhance the temple premises. In addition, decisions were taken to expand and systematically organize the CCTV camera network for better monitoring and security. Measures to improve the prasad distribution system were also discussed. Managing Trustee Shri Rao Pushpendra Singh Chauhan emphasized that every employee and official must perform their responsibilities with dedication and accountability. He stressed that the convenience, dignity and respectful treatment of devotees must always remain the highest priority of the temple administration.

A special cleanliness campaign was organized at Gaumukh Ghat on the banks of the Narmada River on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. SDM Shri Pankaj Verma, CMO Smt. Monika Pardhi, Municipal Council President Shri Omprakash Parihar, Sant Shivgiri Maharaj, along with public representatives, boat operators, social workers and local residents, actively participated in the campaign. During the drive, a large quantity of discarded clothes and other waste found in the Narmada waters and around the ghat was removed, followed by special cleaning of the ghat premises. Various important aspects related to cleanliness, beautification and improved arrangements at Gaumukh Ghat were also discussed, and necessary directions were issued. SDM Shri Pankaj Verma emphasized that maintaining the cleanliness of the Narmada riverbank and ghats is a collective responsibility. He said that continuous efforts would be undertaken with the cooperation of the administration, Municipal Council, boat operators, shopkeepers, saints and the general public. During the inspection, irregularities were also found in boat operations, following which two boat operators were barred from operating their boats. SDM Shri Pankaj Verma said that this cleanliness drive at Gaumukh Ghat aims to go beyond a one-day campaign and establish a sustainable system for regular cleanliness, better arrangements and long-term conservation of the Narmada River.

Renowned Indian playback singer Sadhana Sargam visited the sacred Jyotirlinga town of Omkareshwar on September 29, 2026, and had darshan of Lord Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga. During her visit, she performed traditional puja and offered prayers to Lord Shiva, seeking His blessings. Following the darshan, Ashish Dixit, representing Shri Omkareshwar Temple Trust, welcomed and felicitated her. Expressing her happiness over the visit, Sadhana Sargam said that it was her good fortune to have the opportunity to seek the blessings of Baba Omkareshwar. She said that she experienced a deep sense of peace during her visit and appreciated the smooth and well-organized darshan arrangements at the temple.
